Sunny Island Wear LLC was created in memory of my late father Louis Ross. My father was born in Grenada but grew up in Trinidad, West Indies. There he learned from his aunts and the Trini’s in town how to cook and bake. I can still smell the sweet smell of his cakes in the house as he baked. I can still remember sitting in the kitchen watching him crack open the coconut and grate the “meat” of the coconut. He used this to make his Coconut Rocks/Drop and Coconut Sweet Bread. I enjoyed watching him mix and knead the dough to make bread. I would not leave his side. As the whole house filled with the wonderful smell of fresh baked bread I eagerly waited. Nothing like fresh baked bread with a sliver of butter on top melting into the bread. Cakes and pastries made with the freshest ingredients. Our goal here at Sunny Island is to honor his memory by providing to you the same quality and great taste he provided his family.
